ASC - DIRECTOR OF NURSING
Our client is a 7,000 square foot free standing surgery center with 5 Preoperative Areas, 2 Operating Rooms and 4 recovery areas. There are 3 FTEs and approximately 9 PRN employees that report to the DON.
This physician owned facility is 2 years old and performs approximately 200 procedures per month. The facility focuses on pain management, Neuro / Ortho with plans of expansion.
This is a great opportunity to get surgical management experience. This person does not need management experience. Our client is looking for an experienced surgical nurse that is “hands on” and willing to circulate when needed. The administrator feels confident that she can provide the leadership training necessary for the candidate to become successful as a DON. DIRECTOR OF SURGICAL SERVICES
Currently we are conducting a search for a Director of Surgical Services position near Lafayette, LA. Our client’s facility is located 2 hours from New Orleans, 1 hour from the Gulf of Mexico and within a short drive to Lafayette with an area population of over 100,000.
They are searching for a qualified Surgical Nurse Manager to lead their surgical department. The successful candidate will manage 5 OR suites and will oversees PACU, Surgery and Recovery. 25FTE’s, including the OR Manager and OR Educator. This position is 80% operations/management and 20% patient care. This position requires accountability for financial operations and implementation of hospital and department goals, participates in strategic planning for the hospital and within Surgical Services.

I. POSITION REQUIREMENTS: (Minimum qualifications for the position)
A. Licensure/Certification/Registration: Louisiana.
B. Education BSN preferred
C. Experience: 3-5 Years Surgical Services Management
II. PRIMARY JOB DUTIES:
1. Oversees day-to-day operations of the department to provide a consistently high quality of service to both internal and external customers. Analyzes department operations and processes on an ongoing basis. Identifies opportunities and takes specific actions to produce optimum results.
2. Develops and maintains a department staffing plan that meets organizational needs. Assesses productivity and staffing effectiveness on an ongoing basis and takes specific actions to improve results.
3. Oversees or directly supervises department staff, including hiring, firing, orientation, training and evaluation within established guidelines.
4. Fulfills all fiscal responsibilities in accordance with hospital policies and procedures, as well as any special directives issued by the hospital’s executive officers.
5. Continuously assesses and improves department’s processes and outcomes by developing appropriate P.I. goals, analyzing outcomes and preparing and submitting required reports through the hospital-wide P.I. Program. Recommends short and long term plans for the department and hospital.
6. Reacts effectively to unplanned circumstances, demands, and challenges facing the department and/or the hospital.
7. Exhibits conduct that reinforces the Company’s values and promotes the Code of Conduct. Fulfills leadership obligations under the Ethics and Compliance Program, and fosters and promotes an environment of fairness in all business relations.
8. Develops reviews and revises departmental policies and procedures as needed to assure compliance with all state and federal regulations, accreditation requirements and corporate standards including safety, risk management, and infection control.
9. Demonstrates personal and professional growth and expertise by remaining current with state and federal regulations and professional trends.
10. Participates as requested on teams, committees, and special projects both internal and external to the organization.
